Waste Aware Scotland - Unwanted Mail Campaign
Case Study
Encouraging households to opt out of unwanted mail
The Client
"The work on the "Waste Aware Scotland" campaign was so successful in engaging the public to refuse unwanted mail, that it swept the board at the last UK Green Awards winning its category at the prestigious ceremony in the Guild Hall in London.
The secret of these campaigns has been due in no small measure to the innovation and professionalism of the Campaign HQ staff and their willingness to listen to the clients brief and tailor the messages appropriately within the available budgets."
John P Summers OBE, Chief Executive, Keep Scotland Beautiful
The Background
SWAG’s aim is to reduce the amount of waste we produce, reuse everyday items that may be considered waste and normally thrown out and actively encourage the public to recycle what waste they do produce. A hard task but with the help of strong, confident regional advertising the message is getting through to the nation.
The Solution
We produced a range of materials for the campaign; including tv and radio commercials, press, outdoor including 6 sheets and 48 sheets, over a period of four weeks. Each aspect worked together to present a unified and consistent message and campaign.
The Result
An overwhelming response to the campaign from the public was capped by the award for the best TV Advertisement at the UK Green Awards.
